Buckeye CableSystem Notification Regarding CPNI Policy:

New federal law and FCC regulations require stricter procedures to verify the identity of callers who want to discuss Buckeye TEL services or Customer Proprietary Network Information ("CPNI") that includes call information such as use of services, specific calls, date and time of call, as well as general billing information.

Before this new federal regulation, Buckeye customers calling could discuss their services and billings with a Buckeye representative upon verification of the customer's identity. The verification was done through questions about account information known to Buckeye and the customer such as phone number or social security number. Generally, this verification process will continue for calls made to Buckeye's customer service department. However, the customer will now be required to provide a five-digit security code in order to discuss call information.

Cable piracy affects the picture quality of the entire system by weakening the signal. Poor picture quality increases service calls and other system maintenance, raising costs and putting pressure on cable rates.
